Mother’s Day Craft – Flower Heart

Moms are always the best! They care for us every single day without any days off. They make sure each need is addressed. Moms make a house a home.

This Mother’s Day is the best day to celebrate mom. Show how much you love and care by creating a gift that she could hang at home or in the office.

We’ve made an easy flower heart craft that you can create for mom this Mother’s Day. Make sure you grab your materials and get started.

You’ll need:

–       Pink Poster Board

–       Construction Paper

–       Pencil

–       Glue

–       Tape

–       Scissors

–       Paper Punch (optional)

–       Rubber Bands (optional)

First, draw a large heart on your pink poster board and cut it out. Then, cut different sizes of leaves from your green construction paper. Opt for varying shades of green as this will add depth to your flower heart. Cut enough to cover the sides of the heart. Glue the leaves onto the board.

Then, start making the flowers. Just cut one-inch strips of construction paper in different colors and length. Once you have a good amount of strips, it’s time to roll them.

Get one strip and roll it around your pencil. To keep its shape, tape the end of the strip to the flower roll. This is the part where you can be creative. You don’t need to have uniform rolls. It can come in varying sizes and colors. This will add a point of interest to your flower heart.

Glue your flower roll to the poster board. Keep adding flower rolls onto the heart-shaped board until it is completely filled.  If you would like to hang up this piece of art, remember to leave a little space at the top so that you can punch a hole and loop in some rubber bands. This will make it easier to hang your flower heart in places that mom can see.

You can hang this in the kitchen as you prepare a hearty breakfast for mom on Mother’s Day morning.
